WHAT ARE DEMO CARS?
Demo vehicles are often good ways to get a new vehicle for discounted prices, but there are some cautionary measures. You want to make sure you thoroughly check the vehicle for any hidden or unnoticed internal and external damage. Demos can be used in a variety of ways and some are cared for better than others. If the vehicle has been titled, then it is considered a used vehicle.
You can start by researching National averages on the vehicle and what others are paying for this type of car. You can start by using Edmunds pricing calculator which you can assess at www.car-buy-her.com/tool.html or by going directly to edmunds.com. Demos often come loaded with extras and any discounts would be determined by the dealer. There might be incentives offered by the manufacturer, but this would not be public knowledge. Make sure you balance out the cost of the extras with what you need and the true savings.
Usually when negotiating you want to work with the Invoice price vs.
the MSRP price. There are other factors that come into play when
negotiating like supply and demand. Since this is a 2007 Demo, it's
possible that by waiting a few months (new models come in September & October) the dealer might be more anxious to clear the car off the lot.
All in all -- don't rush the sale, don't feel pressured to buy, do as much research as possible, and do some comparitive shopping.
