SHOULD I USE AN AUTO BROKER?

This is another question in which many auto professional would probably say no, but Car-Buy-Her is both an advocate and automotive resource for women and our job is to give you the options and information and let you make your decision and better informed consumers. Using an auto broker might work well for some women --those that are busy, hate the thought of car shopping, would prefer someone else dealing with and don't mind spending money for this service.

An auto broker is someone who assists a consumer with the purchase or lease of a vehicle. Often, the broker is the one who locates, negotiates, and procures the vehicle on behalf of the consumer. The broker may actually buy the car from the selling source and resell it to the consumer, or the broker may simply facilitate the transaction and, ultimately, the purchase or lease is between the seller and buyer.

Auto brokers can be useful if you find a right one that understands your needs and can find a good deal for you. The trick is understanding their pay structure. Many auto brokers get "kickbacks" from dealers. Not a good sign. Why? Because if they are being paid by the dealer for making a sale then how can they effectively represent your best interest. So it's important that you do a little research, find a good broker and have a good understanding of how they work.
